About the event:
After two sold out rounds of shows, Out of Necessity, directed by Maria Kyriakou and Maria Varnakkidou, returns for only one performance at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre, updated with new material and with English subtitles, before touring to Thessaloniki!
Out of Necessity is a devised theatre performance, which attempts with humor and sensitivity, to talk about everything that concerns the young generation of Cypriots today. How do we perceive ourselves as citizens of a state? How well do we know our history? What is the Constitution and how does it define our identity?
The performance tries to understand, but also to question what is taken for granted, in an attempt to rewrite the dominant narratives, with its gaze turned towards the future of the new generation.
